Ok, so who remembers 1970's car mag sensation, Street Machine? Launched in May 1979, Street Machine hit the newsagent's shelves with a gusto that reflected the cars on its pages. Everything was big; the cars, the news, the personalities of its writers and editors... and then it faded out in the early 2000s, leaving a big space on those magazine racks that not just anyone could fill. So the good news is that it's back. But the great news is that Industry and Supply have landed an opportunity that would make 1979 Neil (our lead creative, designer, and car enthusiast) jump for joy.
The first issue launched with a cover-story worthy of taking the number one spot; the Henry Hi-Rise was loud and proud, a fierce yellow and with a clear attitude that showed everybody what Street Machine was all about. So it was only fitting that Henry took to the cover once more in the magazine's relaunch in July 2017. Now glowing in technicolour, the hotrod's attitude is timeless and as aspirational as ever. The 1962 Ford Consul 375 just cried out to have the Industry and Supply treatment; bold colours, serious energy - the Henry Hi-Rise is about to be your favourite tshirt.
But it's not just Henry - Street Machine magazine and I&S will be working together with all cover cars from now onwards. So whatever the issue, whatever the car, there's a tshirt to match. Issue 2 for August features the mean Gas Guzzler - who wouldn't want to wear that loud and proud in the stands at their favourite show?
We couldn't be more proud to be working with such a driving force behind the hotrod community. Just as Editor in Chief, Dave Smith, states in issue 1.1, "[Street Machine's] not just about the cars, it's about the people behind the wheel, behind the spanners, in the stands at the strip, in the garage, on the scene".
