What a great name for a Motorcyle- the Flying Merkel. This drawing is of one of their board track racers of around 1911-1914. Board track racing was not for the faint of heart as the bike has no clutch and no brakes. Flying Merkels were painted bright orange- so there seemed only one colour shirt that would be perfect for this drawing.
